The mission of Promises2Kids is to break the cycle of child abuse through prevention, education, and advocacy.
Originally founded as the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, Promises 2 Kids was established in 1981 as a non-profit dedicated to fighting against child abuse & neglect in San Diego County. With over 20 programs instilled, they have become a national model for the care and protection of abused children. The Polinsky Center is San Diego County’s only emergency center for neglected kids. They shelter 3,000 children each year. Two of their latest initiatives are:
Military Families Initiative- In support of the men and women who serve for our country, this initiative allows for additional community support for families after their deployment.
Child Internet Safety Initiative- With the emergence of the internet, CISI was implemented to protect children from cyber crime.
